据路透社报导，海伦飓风的强风、暴雨在北卡罗来纳州、南卡罗来纳州、乔治亚州、佛罗里达州、田纳西州和维吉尼亚州至少造成90人死亡。死亡人数更可能不断上升。
由于部分地区的行动通信基地台倒塌，数百人仍无法与亲人取得联繫，被列为失联状态。保险公司和预测机构在週末表示，损失估计范围从150亿美元（约4750亿新台币）到超过1000亿美元（约3兆1000亿新台币）不等，排水系统、通信和交通路线都受到影响。
